Co-Working & Study live streaming

Now that a month has passed since a death in my family, I’m finally ready to refocus my attention on the subjects that fascinate me: ancient myths and the modern day.

I’ve written before about the surprising effects that grief has: namely, the way it can sap your focus and energy.

But now that part of the grieving process seems to (finally) start to dampen, I’m ready to dive back into my research, and before my mom’s passing, I had started streaming this process on Twitch in Co-Working and Studying live stream sessions. But, of course, that got put on hold when I got the news of my mom’s condition.

Now that things have settled down and things feel less intense, I’d like to get back to holding these co-working streams! 1

With all that said, I’m hosting my first one again tonight!2

Come join “one of the most intellectual channels on Twitch” today (8/6) at 6:00 pm CST (4:00 pm PST / 11:00 pm GMT) for a Co-Working and Study session!3

Co-working & Study stream structure

We’ll do 3 working Pomodoro sessions of 30 minutes each, with me muted and chill focus music playing, plus 10-minute breaks in between for chatting (usually we talk about ancient literature, but lately, with Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey movie out now, my mind has been pretty much on The Odyssey obsessively!).

You’re welcome to lurk (hang out quietly), join the chat, or share what you’re working on. Join however feels most comfortable for you!

If you have stuff you’d like to check off your to-do list, or need to study and would like a virtual study buddy in a chill setting, feel free to join!

Footnotes:

  1. The pain is still there, of course, but I’m able to function much better than I was previously and can focus on the task at hand much better than I had been in the last few weeks.

  2. I know… this has to be one of the worst segues ever written. Part of this comes from not having a better segue in mind, and the other part comes from not wanting to dwell on it before getting emotional.

  3. It wasn’t until my spouse suggested I start streaming that I realized Twitch could be used for more than just watching other people play video games! I figured I should make a footnote of that in case you’re asking yourself what Twitch is, too!
